A real Magical History tour of North Norfolk. From Fakenham to Burnham Market for coffee, where Derek happened to meet his 94 year old Aunt in the cafe. Then to Burnham Thorpe to view ‘East Anglia’s largest barn’ and then All Saints Church, where Horatio Nelson’s father was vicar for 47 years (the church has a lots of information on Nelson). Next, through the grounds of Holkham Hall, stopping for a quick look at the walled garden (in the process of being refurbished), the lake and a photo opportunity in front of the Hall. A short ride took us to Wells, where we stopped for a viewing of Mikes new holiday-let property (next to French’s fish restaurant, just off the front). We all split for lunch, while Mike, Terry and Rowland went for a swim in the harbour. From Wells, to Walsingham, stopping to view the large church in the small village of Wighton. A quick look around the shrine and garden in Little Walsingham and then on to the Catholic National Shrine of Our Lady a mile further on. We return to Fakenham, indulging Derek in following the route of his old school cross-country route.
